Handley named Swimmer of the Week for third time this season

Saluki senior swimmer Bryn Handley was named as the Missouri Valley Conference swimmer of the week today for her accomplishments at the USA Swimming Winter National Championships in Columbus, Ohio.

Handley finished eighth in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:32.00, a new best this season for her. She out swam athletes from Louisville and Kentucky in the race. In the 500-yard freestyle, Handley finished 13th overall and fifth in the B Final with a time of 4:48.50. She also attempted to qualify through time trials in the 200-yard freestyle, but came up just short with a time of 1:50.79.

This is the third time this season she has earned the MVC's Swimmer of the Week honor and the ninth time in her career.
