The Southern Illinois men's golf team slipped one spot into 11th place at 18-over par after the second round of competition on Saturday at the Mason Rudolph Invitational, hosted by Vanderbilt.

Alabama vaulted from third place after day one to take the overall lead at 18-under par, one stroke ahead of Florida and four strokes better than Vanderbilt. The 14-team field features seven teams among the top 52 in the nation.

Peyton Wilhoit (+3) was SIU's top golfer today with a two-over 73. He had 13 pars in the round, two birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey. Wilhoit is tied for 41st place in the individual standing with teammate Brandon Carlson (+3), who had a 74 today. Carlson eagled the 18th hole and had three birdies, but a triple bogey on the Par 3 13th hole hurt his score.

The teams will play a final round at Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee on Sunday.
