All-time series vs. SEMO

Scouting the Redhawks
The Redhawks were picked to finish ninth (out of 12) in the Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll. Senior outside hitter Krissa Gearring and senior middle blocker Nzingha Clarke were both named to the 2017 Preseason All-OVC Team. Gearing was named First Team All-OVC in 2016 after she led the OVC in kills and finished second in the league in kills per set. Clarke, who earned Second-Team All-OVC honors in 2016, hit .294 as a junior and led SEMO in total blocks with 84. The Redhawks are 5-5 this season, and come into Tuesday night's match having lost three-straight matches at the Drake Tournament.
Playing Like a Senior
Maggie Nedoma tallied 18 kills against Oakland on Friday, which were not only a career-best, but the most by a freshman since Andrea Estrada finished with 18 against Indiana State on Oct. 24, 2014. Meanwhile, her three-straight matches with 10+ kills is the longest such streak since Estrada tallied 10-plus kills in four-straight matches as a freshman from Aug. 30, 2014-Sept. 5, 2014.
Returning to Carbondale
SEMO head coach Julie Yankus was an assistant coach at SIU under Brenda Winkeler for five seasons from 2005-10.
