Saluki Men Picked Fourth in MAC Poll

The Mid-American Conference released its men's swimming and diving preseason poll today selecting the Salukis to finish fourth at the MAC Swimming and Diving Championships.

Southern was picked fourth behind defending MAC Champions, Eastern Michigan, Missouri State and Miami (Ohio). Eastern Michigan and Missouri State both earned first-place votes. SIU is picked to finish one spot higher than where the team finished at the 2017 MAC Swimming and Diving Championships.

The Salukis return 19 swimmers and divers from last year including seniors Joao Facciotti, Michael Wolfe and Alex Crawford and sophomore diver Kai Hoffman-Dussome. Facciotti and Crawford helped the Salukis to a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. Facciotti finished fifth in the 100-yard butterfly. Crawford was sixth in 200-yard backstroke. Dussome was named the MAC Freshman Diver of the Year last year after logging a top-10 finish in both dives at the conference meet.

The Salukis take on second-ranked Missouri State next weekend in Springfield, Mo. on Saturday.
