Happy Thanksgiving from Saluki Athletics

Saluki Athletics announces annual Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Giving Tuesday offers.
Recently, Saluki Athletics celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday with lunch provided by Pat's BBQ in Murphysboro, courtesy of the Saluki Athletic Scholarship Fund (SASF) and Saluki Sports Properties staff. During the luncheon, members of the athletic staff expressed their answer to that age-old question, "What are you thankful for?"
"I am thankful for my family – wonderful kids and husband," said Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Women's Administrator Liz Jarnigan. "I am also thankful for my new Saluki family."
The Salukis value family – their home families, our coaching and staff family, and the extended Saluki family – the fans and donors that support our student-athletes.
"I am thankful for my family – my home family, as well as my Saluki Athletics family," said Assistant Athletic Director Kaila Tyner. "It makes coming to work every day so enjoyable and rewarding – to work with individuals that you love and care about."
Special people in our lives help us not only continue to support our student-athletes, but help us smile through our workdays.
"I am thankful for the two "Apples of My Eye" munchkins," said Assistant Athletic Director Tad Dunn. "They are growing up so fast but I am proud of the young adults they are becoming. I am also thankful for the love of my life; distance truly makes the heart grow fonder."
Even some of our student-athletes have stuck around to continue workouts, studying, and preparing for the end of the fall semester. Athletes like track and field's Sophomores Shauniece O'Neal and Emma Sexton also assisted during home athletic events during this time.
"Thank you to those who stayed back to help us provide continued great customer service during the holiday season," said Athletic Director Jerry Kill. "I am proud of our student-athletes, volunteers, and staff who put in their time for us during the holiday season. We received numerous compliments and kudos for Shauniece and Emma – for their excitement and greetings to our fans."
Being a part of the Saluki family is forever! Drew Novara is a testament to this as a former Men's Golf student-athlete and graduate assistant and now a part of the SASF team as the S Club Coordinator.Â
"I am thankful for my faith and for my family, especially thankful for my fiancé," said Novara. "I am also thankful for Saluki Athletics for giving me the opportunity to call this place home. I love what I do and the people I work with and consider myself to be incredibly blessed to be where I am!"
