Kai Hoffmann-Dussome named MAC Swimmer/Diver of the Week

Saluki junior Kai Hoffmann-Dussome has been named Mid-American Conference Swimmer/Diver of the Week for his career day against conference foe Missouri State.Â
Hoffmann-Dussome dived to victories in the one- and three-meter diving events (318.15 & 343.66) at Shea Natatorium against the Bears last Saturday. He set a career-best score in the one-meter, which was previously 315.75. He fell .02 shy of reaching his career best in the three-meter.Â
The native of Mississauga, Canada outlasted fellow diver Eli Mercado, who finished second in both the one-and three-meter dive (309.52 & 343.20).Â
Hoffmann-Dussome's best three-meter score (343.68) ranks second in the MAC and his top one-meter score (318.15) ranks third.Â
As a sophomore, Hoffmann-Dussome placed seventh in the one-meter finals at the MAC championships and recorded the top Saluki score in the three-meter finals. As a freshman, he was honored as MAC Freshman Diver of the Year.Â
