21 swimmers and divers named Scholar-Athletes

The Missouri Valley Conference released its list of Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athletes today, selecting more than half of Southern's 41 swimmers to the team.

Southern led the league with its 21 selections and had five athletes make the Scholar-Athlete Team with a 4.0 GPA, the most in Conference as well. To be selected to the Scholar-Athlete Team, an athlete must have a 3.2 cumulative GPA or better and make the All-Conference team, or have a 3.5 cumulative GPA and a top-sixteen finish in an individual event at the Championships, or have a 3.8 cumulative GPA and participate in the MVC Championships. Last year, the Salukis had 19 swimmers selected to the team.
