14 Salukis named to MAC All-Academic Team

Fourteen Salukis were named to the Mid-American Conference Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team today, making up nearly a quarter of the 65 athletes selected.

Southern had the second-most athletes selected to the team only behind Eastern Michigan who had 17 athletes selected to the team. SIU edged out Missouri State, the MAC Swimming and Diving Champions, who had 13 selections. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. Southern's 14 selections brought the total between the men's and women's team's scholar-athlete selections to 35.
