Beibei Ji earns MVC Diver of the Week for third time this season

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Junior diver Beibei Ji has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Week for the third time this season. This is her second-straight week and seventh time earning the award as a Saluki.Â
Ji won three diving events last weekend at the Indiana State tri-meet (1/26) and Butler Invite (1/27). She swept the one- and three-meter diving events with scores of 287.50 and 305.55 at Indiana State. At the Butler Invite, she took first in the three-meter (305.30) and finished second in the one-meter (287.30) in a field of 10 competitors.Â
The native of Taiyuan, China holds 11 wins on the season and ranks first in the Valley in the one- and three-meter dive.Â
Last season, Ji was the MVC one-meter dive champion and advanced to the NCAA Zone C Diving meet. Her score at zones was just three points shy of a berth to the NCAA National Championship meet.Â
Ji and the Salukis are back in action for senior day on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Shea Natatorium. It is the final dual meet of the 2018-19 season for SIU.Â
