Baobao Ji named MVC Diver of the Week

Southern Illinois senior Baobao Ji has been named Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Week for her performance versus McKendree. This is her third time earning the weekly MVC honor.

Ji captured the sweep on the boards in SIU's season-opening 203-92 win over McKendree last Friday. She scored 286.50 in the one-meter dive and a career-best 318.22 in the three-meter dive.

Last season, the Taiyuan, China native won four events and placed second in both diving events at the 2019 MVC Championships. She was the MVC three-meter dive champion and MVC Diver of the Year in 2018.

Ji and her teammates are back in action this Friday at 2:30 p.m. for SIU's home-opening meet against Valparaiso and Bellarmine inside Shea Natatorium.
