Southern Illinois hosts Arkansas State on Tuesday at Itchy Jones Stadium. The Salukis are going for a season sweep of the Red Wolves; earlier in the year, SIU pulled out a 4-3 win in Jonesboro, Ark. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. It's Military Appreciation Day, and all veterans and active duty military will receive free admission. Lt. Colonel Anthony Anderson will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. A pair of freshmen will be the starting pitchers in SIU's Matthew Steidl and A-State Noah Stone.

AROUND THE HORN
- Southern Illinois hosts Arkansas State for a 5 p.m. game on Tuesday. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+.

- Trey McDaniel ranks 12th in the NCAA with nine saves, which also leads the Missouri Valley Conference. SIU bullpen coach Ryan Netemeyer led the MVC in saves each of the past two seasons. If McDaniel leads the MVC in saves this year, SIU will be the first Valley program since Wichita State (1997-01) to have a player leads the MVC in saves three-straight seasons.
