Athlete Network, the largest network of current and former athletes, collegiate athletic departments, Olympic committees, and professional sports teams, is excited to announce that the Southern Illinois University athletic department has adopted Athlete Network technology to further benefit Saluki athletes.
The new Saluki Network enables the athletic department to organize, promote, and track the programs and services offered to current and former athletes. The goal of the network is to create and engage in lifelong, valuable relationships between organizations and their athletes.
"I'm very excited to work with Athlete Network," said Drew Novara, S Club Coordinator for Saluki Athletics. "Having been an athlete here, and now an administrator, I have the unique vantage point of seeing where we can improve our relationships with our student-athletes. I know our athletes still love SIU and want to stay involved."

"Our goal was to gain 150 new members in a month and we've already hit that after one week," Novara said. "Our new Saluki Network will be an excellent way for our athletes from all eras to interact and stay connected with their alma mater."
While athletes are still competing in their sport, they have numerous personal and professional development services available to them. Because these services are distributed on multiple platforms, they are often underutilized. In addition, once an athlete graduates or retires, these services are no longer accessible when they are most needed.
To combat this issue, Saluki Network provides a range of services to both current and alumni Saluki athletes.Â
"We are thrilled to be in a position to benefit Saluki Athletics with a customized network," said Chris Smith, CEO of Athlete Network. "Through the Saluki Network, athletic administrators will not only be able to offer their services, but track the utilization of them, ensuring a beneficial relationship is maintained with their athletes for life. Current and alumni athletes will have one destination to access the tools they need to succeed in life."
