Beibei Ji earns Diver of the Week for 10th time

ST. LOUIS — Southern Illinois senior diver Beibei Ji was named Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Tuesday. It marks the 10th time she has earned the weekly honor in her career as a Saluki.

Ji placed first in the three-meter dive and finished runner-up in the one-meter dive to help SIU to a 165-135 victory over Indiana State last Saturday. The Taiyuan, China native recorded a winning score of 299.47 in the three-meter and was just .07 points shy of first in the one-meter. Ji's combined score of 597.29 topped the eight-women field.

On the season, Ji has captured three wins and eight second-place finishes. In the MVC, she ranks first in the three-meter (356.77) and second in the one-meter (305.77).

Ji and the Salukis are back in action this weekend at Missouri (Jan. 31) and versus Evansville (Feb. 1) for Senior Day.
