Southern closes out the road portion of its regular season schedule with a game on Thursday against Bradley and Sunday's contest at Illinois State
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois University women's basketball team opens its final road swing of the 2019-20 regular season on Thursday, Feb. 27 at Bradley (7 p.m.) followed by Sunday's game at Illinois State on Sunday, March 1 at 2 p.m. Southern is coming off of back-to-back wins, including a 99-60 win over Evansville last Sunday. Both games can be viewed on ESPN+ and can be heard locally on Magic 95.1 FM.
All-Time Series vs. Bradley
• The Salukis and the Braves will meet for the 79th time in a rivalry that dates back to 1983.
• Southern leads the all-time series, 52-26.
• SIU won 27-straight games against Bradley to open the rivalry, which, at the time, was the fourth-longest winning streak against one team in the nation.
• The Braves returned the favor winning 22 of the next 27 games.
• Southern has won 10 of the last 11 meetings against Bradley, including a 64-50 win inside Banterra Center on Feb. 2.
Most points in a half
• Southern scored an impressive 60 points on 65.7% (23-of-35) in the first half of its win over Evansville on Feb. 23. Â
• SIU's 60 point outburst was the second-most points scored in a half in school history and the most in a single half since 1981.
Margin of victory
• The Salukis defeated the Evansville Aces, 99-60 Sunday inside Banterra Center. Southern's +39 point margin of victory was its largest against a conference foe since 1991.
• SIU's 99 points in the win were the seventh-most points in a game in program history.
• Five of the top-seven single-game scoring marks in school history have come under seventh-year head coach Cindy Stein.
10-plus steals
• The Salukis forced 20 turnovers and came away with 10 steals in their 99-60 win over Evansville on Sunday.
• It marked the sixth-straight game in which Southern has finished with double-digit steals.
• The six-game streak is tied with the 1994-95 team for the longest in the NCAA era in program history.
• Sunday's 10 steals marked the 42nd time in Cindy Stein's seven-year tenure as head coach that Southern has finished with double-digit steals.
• Kristen Nelson has recorded at least one steal in 20-straight games.
• Southern's 19 steals against Drake on Feb. 7 were its most in a game since Nov. 12, 2007 in a 71-55 win over Christian Brothers.
Big lift off the bench
• Payton McCallister scored in double figures in back-to-back SIU wins last weekend.
• It marked the second time in her collegiate career that she has reached double-digits in back-to-back games.
• McCallister had a career night in the win over Evansville- she tied her career-best with 15 points on a career-high five three-pointers.
Perfect from the field
• Both Lauren Hartman and Kristen Nelson were perfect from the field in the win over Evansville.
• Hartman went 4-for-4 for eight points in 12 minutes while Kristen Nelson was 3-for-3, all of which came from behind the arc and was 2-for-2 from the charity stripe for 11 points.
50% or better from the field
• SIU shot a season-high 58.7% from the field in its win vs. Evansville - which marked the fifth time this season that Southern has shot 50% or better from the floor. SIU's five games shooting 50% or higher are its most in a single-season since the 2006-07 season.
• It is the best SIU has shot from the field in a game since it shot 60% in a win over Evansville on Jan. 2, 2009.
• Southern is 16-6 under seventh-year head coach Cindy Stein when making at least half of its shot attempts.
• Since 1988, SIU holds an .811% (88-20) winning percentage when shooting 50% or better.
• The Salukis didn't lose a game and won 18-straight games when shooting 50% or better from 1993 through the 1997 seasons.

• SIU recorded 26 assists on 37 field goals in the win over Evansville on Feb. 23.

• Brittney Patrick dished out an assist against Missouri State to become the ninth Saluki with 350 career assists.
• Patrick ranks fifth in the Valley in both assists per game (4.0) and sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.53).
• The senior point guard is also third in the league in steals per game (1.8).
• Kasia McClendon was the last Saluki to lead the league in steals per game, as she led both the NCAA and MVC with a 4.7 steals per game average in 1997.
