The Southern Illinois Women's Golf team will host the inaugural Diane Daugherty Invite April 6-7, 2020 at the Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Charles, Missouri.
The Salukis have traditionally hosted the Saluki Invite in March at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale, Illinois. With the move the St. Charles, Missouri, the Salukis hope to attract more teams and better competition.
"I'm obviously honored and humbled," said former Southern Illinois University women's golf coach Diane Daugherty. "I'm excited for the future of the tournament. The quality of the field for the first event is outstanding. To have my name attached makes me very proud."
Bogey Hills Country Club was originally designed in the early 1900's and has been continuously enhanced with subtle changes to enhance shot values, conditions and playability. The course is known for beautiful waterfalls, Â spectacular views and abundance of aromatic flowers and majestic trees.
"I'm excited to rename the Saluki Invite in honor of coach Diane Daugherty's hard work and dedication to SIU women's golf," said SIU women's golf head coach Danielle Kaufman. "We have seven out of the ten Missouri Valley Conference schools committed to the Diane Daugherty Invite. The location of this course makes it easier for teams to travel with St. Louis Lambert International Airport only twenty-minutes away."
Volunteers will be needed to help. Multiple shifts and positions are available, with t-shirt and lunch provided. Please contact Coach Danelle Kaufman at 618-453-5469 or danielle.kaufman@siu.edu. You can also register online at https://bit.ly/2QxoVww.
