Women’s Golf Finish 10th at Diane Daugherty Invite

The Southern Illinois women's golf team finished in 10th place at the 2022 Diane Daugherty Invite, which finished Tuesday with 18-holes at Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Charles, Missouri. SIU finished with a total score of 976 (+124).
As a team, the Salukis carded 22 birdies over the two-day tournament. Graduate Moyea Russell finished tied for 23rd with a score of 239 (+26). Sophomore Janie Samattiyadeekul shot her best round on the final day of play with a 77 for a total score of 246 (+33), tied for 51st.
Freshman Kylee Vaughan improved throughout the event, carding rounds of 84, 83, and 81 to finish tied for 55th with a score of 248 (+35). Junior Secilia Ho tied for 58th with a total of 249 (+36) and graduate Rosemarie Bundy rounded out the score for Southern Illinois with a mark of 251 (+38), tied for 65th.
SIU brought four individuals to the event. Sophomore Waew Anuvran carded 82 on Tuesday to finish tied for 76th with a score of 257 (+44). Freshman Morgan Gindler got better each day, finishing tied for 85th with a mark of 260 (+47). Sophomore Adriana Vinterova took 92nd with a score of 272 (+59) and senior Ryleigh Vaughn finished with a total of 304 (+91) for 94th place.

The Salukis return home to prep for the Redbird Spring Invitational, hosted by Illinois State University, on April 8-9, 2022 at Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Illinois.
