Salukis Begin Wildcat Invitational Today

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Southern Illinois begins its second tournament of the fall season today at Kansas State for the Wildcat Invitational. The invitational is at the par-72, 7,525-yard Colbert Hills Golf Course. The event is free and open to the public.
The five Salukis that will compete are Edouard Cereto, Hugo Archer, Andrew Watson, Carsen Silliman and Dain Richie.
"We are very excited for the opportunity to compete again this weekend. I believe we've had a great week of preparation since we returned home from our first event," said head coach Justin Fetcho. "We learned a lot about ourselves last week and that will only help us grow throughout the course of the year. We have a very talented group and if we can keep improving on our patience, discipline and toughness then we will be very dangerous at our upcoming event."
Cereto is coming off a strong start to his Saluki career, as his final-round score of 68 was the second-best score of the day in the ANF Fall Classic. His overall total of 208 (-8) is the 13th-best 54-hole score in school history.
The field includes 13 other teams that will compete at Colbert Hills for the 2023 Wildcat Invitational in Boise State, Creighton, Drake, Grand Canyon, Houston Christian, Kansas City, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Oakland, Omaha, South Dakota, South Dakota State, and Texas A&M-Commerce.
