CARBONDALE, Ill. -Â Southern Illinois track and field continues its indoor season Friday at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic in Louisville, Ky.
The one-day event begins at 10Â a.m. ET
Other teams competing with the Salukis are Bellarmine, Belmont, Cumberland University, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, IUPUI, Jacksonville State, Lipscomb, Louisville, Marshall, Miami (OH), Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Southeast Missouri, SIU-Edwardsville, Southern Indiana, Tennessee State, Tennessee Martin, Vincennes, Western Illinois, Western Kentucky and Xavier.
KEEPING UP WITH BOSTON'S BEST
The Salukis are coming off the John Thomas Terrier Classic, in which many athletes continued their indoor season success.
The men began day one with many impressive feats.
Shane Ashton and Jeremiah Hamilton both finished in the top 15 of the men's 400-meter dash which contained 128 contestants.
Hamilton and Christian Donatelli finished sixth and seventh in the men's 200-meter dash out of 189 finishers.
Ethan Senti broke a personal record by more than nine seconds in the men's 5000-meter run.
Jadon Robertson traveled to the IUPUI Invitational and finished second in the men's heptathlon which included three first-place finishes.
The women kept the momentum going and shined on day two.
Iaunia Pointer placed second in the 200-meter dash and was one of three Salukis in the top 14 and four in the top 34. Trinity Cleaver finished 13th and set a personal record.
Rachel Anderson made headlines once again by breaking her record in the women's 3000-meter dash by nearly 17 seconds.
Vashti Grey, Pointer, Teanna Bell and Christina Rene combined for a season-best finish in the 1600 relay, posting a time of 3:48.15.
