Recap | Celia Pulido Sets New MVC Record as Salukis Dominate Day Three

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The Southern Illinois women's swimming and diving team wrapped up day three of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship with Celia Pulido setting the new program and MVC record in the 100-yard butterfly. The Salukis also jumped from sixth to third in the standings.

Prelims
Day three kicked off with the 100-yard butterfly with Celia Pulido finishing first and breaking her current record by 0.45 at 53.22. This is the second time this season she has broken her own record. Brooklyn Anderson had the third place finish in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:21.69. Next was the 200-yard freestyle and the top finishing was Bea Padronwho finished in fourth. Ali Robertson got the third place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Finals
Once again Celia Pulido smashes the 100-yard butterfly program record with a speedy 52.75 which also sets the MVC record. The 100-yard backstroke also went to Celia Pulido with a first place finishing time of 53.22.

Brooklyn Anderson finished in third place in the 400 IM with a time of 4:19.10, two seconds faster than her preliminary time. In the 200-yard freestyle Susanna Hernadez dropped 1.97 and took the first place finish with 1:47.42 finishing time, which became the new program record. Olivia Herron takes third place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:01.65 finishing time. The Salukis took second place in the 400-yard medley relay to finish off the night.

Day four is the final day of the MVC Championship and it will include 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle, 200 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, 1650 Freestyle* prelims and 1650 Freestyle*, 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle, 200 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, 3-Meter Diving (1-8), and 400 Freestyle Relay finals.
