Preview | Ramos makes her Saluki coaching debut at the Bradley Intercollegiate

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Southern Illinois men's and women's cross-country programs will compete at the Bradley Intercollegiate on Friday, September 20th, at Detweiller Park in Peoria, Ill. The men's 8K race will start at 5:15 p.m. and the women will run three miles at 6 p.m.
Roster Makeup
The men's team consists of seven runners:
Freshmen: Ben Chance, Will Foltz
Junior: Westen Jokerst
Senior: Josh Delgado and Vincent Van Eck
Graduate: Uriah Guthrie
The women's team consists of ten runners:
Freshmen: Kyla Engel, Rae Kawalec, Riley Linville and Ally Niedfeldt
Sophomore: Brodie Denny and Hannah Meiser
Junior: Audrey Boles
Senior: Ansley Bailey and Brianna Nieset
Graduate transfer: Hannah Eastman
Coach Angelina Ramos will be making her coaching debut for the Salukis after joining the team on September 16th, 2024. Ramos will look to take the Salukis to the next level after a strong opener at the SEMO RedHawks XC Invite.
Senior Uriah Guthrie and Freshman Will Foltz were the men's top finishers at SEMO. Guthrie finished in fourth place with a time of 15:46.749. Foltz finished seventh with a time of 15:52.245. As a team, the Salukis placed third out of eight teams with 77 points.
The women saw three top-10 finishes led by graduate transfer Hannah Eastman, followed by Senior Brianna Nieset and Sophomore Hannah Meiser. Eastman hit the ground running in her Saluki debut, finishing second with a time of 18:04.501. Nieset finished fifth with a time of 18:54.783. Meiser finished in eighth with a time of 18:59.179. Rae Kawalec was the Salukis' top freshman runner with an 11th-place finish. As a team, the Salukis placed second out of nine teams with 45 points.
