Preview | Women's Golf travels to Iowa City for Thomason Invite

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois Women's Golf will pick up action at the Diane Thomason Invitational Presented by Scheels beginning Monday in Iowa City. The tournament will occur over two days, with the first 36 played Monday and the final 18 Tuesday.
The tournament features the following programs: Bowling Green State, Drake, Iowa (host), Missouri State, Montana State, North Dakota State, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Oklahoma City, Southern Illinois, Southern Mississippi, UAB, UTRGV, UTSA and Wisconsin.
The Salukis will send a five-golfer team: Pihla Pennanen, Kayla Sayyalinh, Calli Smith, Ella Overstreet and Kylee Vaughan.
Southern is coming off a sixth-place finish in The Velvet, where Kayla Sayyalinh finished ninth.
Monday's forecast calls for sunshine with a high of 84 and winds at five to 10 miles per hour. Tuesday's forecast will cool things down, with sun and a high of 70 and winds at 10 to 20 miles per hour.
