BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -Â Southern Illinois University's track and field program closed out day two of the Indiana Invitational at the Gladstein Fieldhouse.
Director of Track and Field Richard Jones gave his thoughts on the Salukis finishing the meet strong.
"This weekend showed me that the team is moving in the right direction, everyone knows that there is more work to be done," Jones said. "Having a good competitive meet exposes something that the team will work on to get better."
Jones continued, "We will work to get better over the next few weeks."
Women's 60-meter hurdles continued their dominance in the finals on Saturday. After holding the top spots in the prelims, Triniti Douglas (8.79) and Trinity Cleaver (8.99) were the only two runners to finish under the nine-second mark.
Next up was the men's 400-meter race. Andre Jackson II raced his way to his personal best time of 48.40 seconds, winning the race by 1.07 seconds.
The 4x400 meter relays wrapped Saturday's action. The women fought hard, finishing second place at 3:51.15 seconds. The men capped off a strong day two for the Salukis by winning the men's 4x400 race at 3:20.28 seconds.
