Preview | Men's Golf heads to the Desert Mountain Collegiate

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University men's golf team will head to Scottsdale, Ariz., on March 8 to compete in the Desert Mountain Collegiate. SIU will be playing 36-holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday.
Southern will send Anthony De Schutter, Frank Bellino, Leon Heitz. Lucas Lasley, Oliver Ulrich, and Cy Norman, who will play individually.
The Salukis will face off against 16 opposing teams including host Michigan, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Grand Canyon, James Madison, Kansas, Kentucky, Lamar, Miami (Ohio), Minnesota, Mississippi State, Oral Roberts, Pacific, Utah, UTEP, and VCU.
The Desert Mountain Collegiate is being held at The Outlaw Course. It spans 7,107 yards and is a par-72 event. This course is a Jack Nicklaus designed course.
The Salukis will look to bounce back after a tough finish at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational. Anthony De Schutter and Frank Bellino led the Salukis with 30th and 38th place finishes in Henderson, Nev.
