CARBONDALE, Ill. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its 2024-25 Scholar All-American Team and 10 Salukis found their name on the list. Additionally, the team as whole was named Team Scholar All-American. Southern earned this honor with a 3.40 team GPA on the men's side and a 3.70 mark for the women's squad.
Two Salukis, Celia Pulido and Olivia Herron, were named First-Team Scholar All-Americans. To earn this honor, an individual must have held a GPA of at least 3.5 while also participating in the national championship. At the 2025 NCAA National Championship, both Pulido and Herron earned All-American honors, with Pulido making the first team in the 100-yard backstroke while Herron made second-team in the 200-yard breaststroke. Additionally, Herron was named the Missouri Valley Conference's Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
To earn Second-Team Scholar All-American, athletes must have held a GPA of 3.5 or higher while having met a "B" standard time for the national championship or qualifying for the diving zone qualification meet. Eight Salukis met these standards:
Ten Scholar All-Americans ties a program record for swim and dive. That number also matches the number of Scholar All-Americans from every other MVC school combined.
