Carbondale, Ill. – The 2025-26 Southern Illinois women's basketball season is just around the corner, and now the Salukis know who they will be facing in non-conference play.
"With the rigors of Missouri Valley Conference play in mind, we designed our non-conference schedule to challenge our team and energize our fans," says head coach Kelly Bond-White. "From tough home tests to big-time road and neutral-court matchups, every game is an opportunity to grow and showcase the brand of basketball we're building. We can't wait to see Salukis in the stands bringing the energy this fall."
The season officially begins on November 4 in Carbondale against Lewis University, a Division II opponent out of Chicagoland. After an over-week long break, the Salukis then hit the road and travel to Purdue Fort Wayne on November 15.
A major test arrives three days late when SIU visits Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, on November 18. On November 23, the Salukis are back home to host Austin Peay. And right before Thanksgiving, Southern will participate in the Coast 2 Coast Music City Classic in Nashville. On November 25, the team plays Winthrop before a throwdown against Arkansas the following day.
After Thanksgiving, the Salukis return to Carbondale on November 30 to take on Western Kentucky. Their final road, non-conference game occurs on December 3 at UAB. Just three days later, SEMO pays Carbondale a visit on December 6 in the next chapter of the SIU-SEMO rivalry. Non-conference play ends on December 20 at the Banterra Center against Judson.
All start times for the games are still to be announced.
