Peciar comes to Carbondale after placing at European Junior Open Water Championships. Other accomplishments include competing and being a finalist at the majstrovstvá senior open juniorov (Senior Open Championships).

Peciar plans on majoring in Biochemistry/Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry and Aviation Management. Tomáš's parents are Pavol Peciar and Tatiana Peciarová.
