Ryann Bowser enters her first season as a graduate assistant video coordinator with the SIU women’s basketball program.
Bowser comes to Carbondale by way of Highland Community College, where she served as a volunteer assistant coach for one season. The Scotties went 28-4 in her lone season on staff and advanced to the NJCAA DII National Tournament. The stint was a homecoming for Bowser, who is the only two-time All-American in Highland Community College history and helped lead the Scotties to the NJCAA DII National Championship game during her sophomore season.
The Holton, Kansas native transferred from HCC to Texas Tech. She played in all but three games during her two seasons as a Red Raider, which included 13 starts. She averaged 3.5 points and 1.5 assists during her career, and finished ninth in the Big 12 conference in three-point field goal percentage as a senior.
Bowser was a prep standout at Holton High School, where she won a state championship as a junior and helped the Wildcats amass a 99-4 record during her four seasons.
