The women's tennis team heads to Memphis to play in its fourth invitational of the fall season. The Memphis Invitational to be played this weekend, Oct. 17-18, will be held at the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tenn.
The Salukis look to play as well at the Memphis Invitational as they have in their previous three invitationals of the fall season. The Dawgs are coming off a productive weekend as they were able to pick up 17 wins at the Saluki Classic Invitational.
The Salukis have been led thus far by seniors Alejandra Blanco and Tana Trapani. Blanco has an impressive 7-2 record at the No. 1 singles spot, while Trapani still remains undefeated with a perfect 9-0 record at the No. 4 singles spot. Also contributing is sophomore Zuzana Palovic who is also undefeated (9-0) this season and looks to continue her winning streak this weekend at the No. 6 spot.
Blanco and Trapani not only have been playing exceptionally well in singles play, but have been dominating the courts in doubles play as well. The senior duo have yet to be beaten in doubles this fall as they have posted an 8-0 record.
The Memphis Invitational is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m Friday. All results and bracket pairings for the Memphis Invitational can be found at www.SIUSalukis.com.
