Louisville, Ky - The women's tennis team, by a score of 5-2, defeat David Lipscomb for their first win of the season. The Salukis won four of six singles matches and swept the doubles competition against David Lipscomb. This weekends tennis action brings the team's overall record to 1-4.
Head coach Judy Auld feels this is a good win for her young team, which is still without three of its top players (Tana Trapani, Kari Stark, Zuzana Palovic).
"We are not at full strength," said Auld. "Having Tana, Kari, and Zuzana out of the lineup hurts us, but it does allow our young people to get some playing time, which is good."
The Salukis will return to action on Feb. 28, to take on Murray State (3pm). Results can be found on the team's official website at www.siusalukis.com.
