CARBONDALE, IL. - The Salukis will be back in action as they travel to Paducah, Ky. to square off against Murray State on Friday and then will take on Miami of Ohio on Saturday.
The Salukis are 2-5 on the year but are improving from match to match. "We are making progress in becoming better tennis players each and every day", said coach Brett Bridal. The Dawgs will be looking to junior Maria Blanco to continue to lead the team. Blanco will face off against Murray sophomore Anna Lask at the No. 1 singles spot, while Blanco teams up with senior Tana Trapani to play as SIU's No. 1 doubles team.
After Friday's showdown with the Racers on Friday, SIU will switch their focus to the Red Hawks of Miami of Ohio. The Hawks are 7-2 on the year and are on a four match winning streak and will be looking to freshmen Victoria Pulido, who was named MAC player of the week after posting four wins for the Hawks last weekend, to lead them to a victory over the Salukis.
