Women's Tennis Falls to Drake 6-1

DES MOINES, IA. - After picking up a win yesterday against the Creighton Bluejays, the Salukis stubbled a bit as they finished out their weekend with a 6-1 loss to the Drake Bulldogs today.
SIU had trouble getting anything going, as they began the day dropping all three doubles matches, giving Drake and early 1-0 lead. The Bulldogs took their momentum from doubles and continued to add to it as they defeated the Salukis in all but one singles match.
Joana Hornestam was the only SIU playedr to record a win today, as she defeated Daria Zawislak (6-3, 6-1) at the No. 6 spot.
The Salukis fall to 5-10 overall after today's loss and drop to 3-2 in MVC play. SIU will conclude their spring season next weekend as they host the Bradley Braves on April 23 and then welcome Illinois State to the SIU Arena Tennis courts on April 24.
