Women's Tennis Defeats Bradley 4-3

CARBONDALE, IL. - The Salukis were able to come from behind and defeat Bradley this afternoon, as SIU claimed four wins in singles play, to down the Braves 4-3.
After dropping the doubles point a relentless Saluki squad fought their way back into the match, as they got solid play from their entire lineup in singles action. Maria Blanco led the way for the Dawgs as she was able to defeat Elise Montrose (6-3, 6-1) at the No. 1 singles spot. Also posting wins for the Salukis were Zuzana Palovic, Laura Bredniak and Joana Hornestam. Palovic defeated Kelley Wood (6-1, 6-2) at the No. 4 spot, while Bredniak picked up a win over Jessica Sampias at the No. 5 spot, and Hornestam knocked off Katie Bowen at the No. 6 spot to seal the 4-3 win for the Salukis.
The Salukis improve to 6-11 on the year and 4-4 in MVC play. SIU will conclude their regular season tomorrow as they welcome Illinois State to the SIU Arena Tennis Courts for a 10:00 a.m. match up.
