CARBONDALE, IL. - After having a week off the Salukis return to the court as they host Wichita State on Saturday, and then welcome the Bears of Southwest Missouri State to the SIU Arena Courts on Sunday.
Wichita State comes into Carbondale with a 10-7 overall record and boasting an unblemished 2-0 record in Missouri Valley Conference play. The Shockers look to Ana Exeni and Wendi Webster to lead them against the Dawgs this weekend. The two WSU stars should give SIU junior Maria Blanco and freshmen Amanda Taillefer two good matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spots.
The Salukis will wrap up a three match home stand on Saturday when the welcome the SMS Bears to town. SMS is 2-9 overall this season and is led by Elizabeth Garza and Maja Stanojevic. SIU coach Brett Bridel will be looking his entire lineup to give him results this weekend and hopefully the Dawgs can come away with two quality MVC victories.
Saturday's Match against Wichita State is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m., while Sunday's match will begin at 11:00 a.m. Admission is free to all Saluki home matches and all results for this weekend's matches can be found at www.SIUSalukis.com
