Indiana State blanks women's tennis

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Southern Illinois women's tennis team lost to Indiana State 7-0 in Terre Haute, Ind. The Sycamores swept the Salukis in singles action winning all six matches.
In the number one singles match Maria Blanco lost to Jennifer Migan 6-0, 6-0. At the two spot Zuzana Palovic fell to Joanne Schickerling 6-3, 6-1. Zoya Honarmand lost in the number three match to Sara Galparoli 6-0, 6-0.
Amanda Taillefer lost to Fadzai Masiyazi 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) in the number four match. In the number five match Laura Bredniak fell to Marie Caujolle in three sets 5-7, 6-0, 10-6. In the final match Kathleen Maher was defeated by Imane Lahlou 6-1, 6-1.
The Sycamores improve to 16-4 overall and 7-1 in conference play. With the loss SIU drops to 3-13 overall and 0-7 in the MVC. The Salukis face Illinois State Saturday at 1 p.m. in Normal, Ill.
