Women's tennis defeats Chicago State, 4-3

Chicago, Ill.- The SIU women's tennis team won its second match in as many days as they defeated Chicago State, 4-3.
The Salukis improved their record to 2-0 with wins by Fadzai Mawisire in No. 1 singles and Vishkha Sheoran in No. 2 singles and a No. 1 doubles win by the duo of Mawisire and Ame Blacketer.
With the match tied 3-3 going into the final match between Emily Whitney and Lia Tejoprayitno, Whitney pulled out her first collegiate victory and what eneded up to be the match winner for the Salukis.
"It was really great to see Emily go out there and pull off her first victory and for it to be such a big win for not only her but her teammates as well," Head coach Audra Nothwehr said.
The Salukis will return home for a match versus Arkansas State on Feb. 22 at SportsBlast beginning at 9:30 a.m.
