Carbondale, Ill.- The Southern Illinois women's tennis team defeated the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Cougars 7-0 at the Carbondale Community High School tennis courts.
The Salukis were able to move players around in positions as Ame Blacketer pick up a her first win of the season at No. 1 singles.
Head coach Audra Nothwehr said the Salukis dealt well with windy conditions but could have played better in doubles.
"We need to have more aggressive volleys and stay strong," Nothwehr said. "And unfortunately SIUE didn't have their full roster due to injuries and I would have liked to play them when they are healthy because they are a strong team."
The Salukis will return to action on March 23 as they travel to play at Southeast Missouri State.
