Evansville, Ind.- The Southern Illinois women's tennis team picked up their first conference victory of the season as they defeated Evansville, 5-2.
Fadzai Mawisire improved her overall No. 1 singles record at SIU to 12-0 by defeating Kate Chybowski, the current Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week,
Head coach Audra Nothwehr said that the team was very strong in doubles play and played very smart in the match.
"Overall, we did very well against the Purple Aces and we are happy to get our first conference win of the year," Nothwehr said.
The Salukis will return to Carbondale to host UT-Martin tomorrow at the University Courts beginning at 3 p.m.
