Saluki women's tennis tops Indiana State, 5-2

Carbondale, Ill.-The Southern Illinois women's tennis team started a three game weekend series off with a win over Indiana State, 5-2 on Friday.
Because the Sycamores currently have four players available due to injury, the Salukis were able to take default victories at No. 3 doubles, No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
Fadzai Mawisire claimed her 18th victory of the season, moving her into a three way tie for 8th place on the career victories in a spring season, by defeating Sarah
"We really stepped it up big time today,"Head coach Audra Nothwehr said. "Fadzai had a great day, she was very consistent and really put the pressure on her opponent and Jessica came out with a big win too so kudos to her as well."
The Salukis will host Illinois State tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the University Courts weather permitting.
