CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois women's tennis team extended its winning streak to three matches by defeating UT-Martin, 5-2, on Saturday.
The Salukis (4-3) swept the No. 1 through No. 4 singles with victories by Melanie Delsart, Anita Lee, Jennifer Dien and Korey Love. Both Delsart and Lee rallied from a one-set deficit to capture their matches. SIU also won the doubles point.
"When we get into third sets, we are starting to remain confident and just relax and not think about our bad shots or missed opportunities, but just focus on the next play," said head coach Audra Nothwehr.
The Salukis are above .500 for the first time this season and Nothwehr sees her team continuing to improve.
"We still need to work on eliminating the little errors that could be the difference between a win and a loss," she said.
