Melanie Delsart Named MVC Player Of The Week

Carbondale, Ill. Southern Illinois University women's tennis player Melanie Delsart, was named the MVC Player of the Week after going undefeated against St. Louis and Austin Peay last Friday.
In the Austin Peay match, Melanie defeated Vanja Tomic (APSU) 6-1, 6-2. Vanja Tomic was ranked No. 123 in the pre-season singles play. In the St. Louis match, Delsart def. Hailee Elmore (SLU) 6-3, 6-2. Elmore entered the match ranked No. 20 in the central region.

Melanie has won five straight double matches and with the two wins on Friday, she improved her singles winning streak to 6 games.
