Melanie Delsart Named MVC Tennis Athlete of the Week

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Junior Melanie Delsart was named the Missouri Valley Conference Tennis Athlete of the Week, marking the first time this year a Saluki women's tennis player has won this award.

Delsart competed in three matches in Orlando, Fla. this past week, compiling a 3-0 record in singles at the No. 1 position and posting a 1-0 record in doubles at the No. 1 position.

Delsart holds the No. 10 Central Region ITA ranking and is 7-3 on the season at the No. 1 position, winning four-straight matches. Delsart has also been a major part of the Salukis' doubles success, posting an 8-1 doubles record primarily at the No. 1 spot. SIU is 8-2 overall this spring.
