Women's Tennis thumps UT Martin, 7-0

CARBONDALE, Ill. --The Southern Illinois women's tennis team extended its winning streak to 10 matches today after sweeping UT Martin, 7-0.
The Salukis (10-1) had no problem with the visiting Skyhawks (2-9), taking the doubles point after winning all three matches.
Melanie Delsart and Anastacia Simons won their tenth straight doubles match after besting Ivon Simic and Anna Marie Herbold, 8-2. Juniors Korey Love and Anita Lee won their match, 8-1 while twins Ariadna and Gisela Cairo Baza won in flight No. 3, 8-2.
"Our doubles play was really solid today," said head coach Audra Nothwehr. "I like the pressure we are applying to our opponents."
Southern had little trouble in singles play, winning at all six positions.
At the No. 1 spot, Delsart defeated Simic (7-6(5), 6-3) while Natasha Tomishima continues her hot streak, winning her ninth match straight after besting Herbold (6-3, 6-4).
Senior Jennifer Dien extended her singles streak to twelve matches with a (6-2, 6-0) win over Anna Winklemann. Anita Lee won (6-4, 6-1) at No. 3 and Simons won (6-2, 6-3) in flight No. 5. Meanwhile, Korey Love picked up her third dual win of the year with a (6-0, 6-1) win over Katie McCall.
Southern will travel to Tennessee to take on Memphis on Saturday.
