Anita Lee named MVC Tennis Athlete of the Week

WATERLOO, Iowa -- Southern Illinois women's tennis player Anita Lee has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Tennis Athlete of the Week, marking the first Player of the Week honor of her career.
Lee, a Las Vegas, Nev. native went 3-0 at No. 3 singles and teamed up with Korey Love to go 3-0 in No. 3 doubles last week, helping the SIU women's tennis team to a 5-0 start in MVC play. Lee defeated St. Louis' Mina Milovic in 6-2, 6-2 in SIU's 4-3 win over the Billikens Sunday before defeating Drake's Lea Kozulic 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 on Saturday in a 4-3 win over the Bulldogs. She closed the week out with another two-set win over Northern Iowas Chelsea Moore to help SIU defeat the Panthers 5-2 on Sunday. Lee and Love defeated their counterparts from Saint Louis 8-2, Drake 8-4 and Northern Iowa 8-1.
