Women's Tennis to host Saint Louis

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois women's tennis team is set to host Saint Louis for a Tuesday afternoon match scheduled for 3 p.m. at University Courts.
State of Mind
The Salukis (13-3, 3-0 MVC) come into Tuesday on a three-match winning streak after a weekend sweep of Illinois State and Bradley. The Salukis will travel to Drake and Northern Iowa this weekend to continue MVC play.
Looking at Saint Louis
The Billikens (10-6) and Salukis met last year in Saint Louis with the Salukis coming out on top 4-3. Saint Louis comes to Carbondale after defeating UMKC, 6-1. SLU is led by Brooke Urzendowski who is 11-3 at flight No. 3. Maria Toro Moreno and Natalia Yacaman are 8-6 on the year and have won their last two matches.
Double Trouble
The Salukis continue to have success in doubles play where they are a combined 63-19 (.768) on the year. Melanie Delsart and Anastacia Simons lead the way for the Salukis with a 24-5 record. Jennifer Dien and Natasha Tomishima are not far behind with a 18-6 record. Korey Love and Anita Lee have won 11 straight matches at flight No. 3.
Delsart's ITA Ranking
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has ranked Southern Illinois senior Melanie Delsart No. 19 in the central region. This marks the second consecutive year she has received a central region ranking (No. 10 in 2011-12). Delsart joins players from Kansas State, Nebraska, Tulsa, Iowa and Missouri among the top 20 singles players in the region, and was one of two Missouri Valley Conference players to be ranked in the top 20 regionally.
