Women’s tennis wraps up day one at the UTC Tournament

CHATTANOOGA, TENN. – The Southern Illinois University women's tennis team completed the first day at the UTC Tournament, picking up three wins. Ana Sofia Cordero led the Salukis, winning at the No. 1 singles slot. Cordero defeated Eastern Kentucky's Laura Argente, 6-1, 6-2. Cordero is 3-0 this fall season.
SIU had success in doubles, winning two of three matches. Cordero and Xiwei Cai continued their winning streak (3-0), defeating EKU's No. 1 doubles team, 6-0. Polina Dozortseva and Tereza Klocova picked up the other team's doubles win, beating EKU's No. 3 team, 6-2.
The Salukis will be back in action tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.
