CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois volleyball team fell to the Northern Iowa Panthers, 3-0 (25-16,  25-20, 25-19) on senior day Sunday inside Davies Gym. Three Salukis had six kills each, including a team-best nine kills from Patience Brown.

KEY MOMENTS
-The Panthers never trailed in set one. The Salukis got to within one, 10-9 on an ace by Abby Barrow, but a 5-1 run by the Panthers quickly made it a five-point UNI lead (15-10). That was as close as SIU could get in the opening set, as Northern Iowa scored four-straight points to win the frame, 25-16.
-Northern Iowa hit .444 in set two and committed just three attack errors through two sets. SIU got to within two on a kill by Nellie Fredriksson that brought the crowd to its feet at 22-20, but three-straight points by the Panthers following a timeout quelled any chance of a comeback.
-The Salukis limited the Panthers to a .222 hitting percentage in the third set and forced seven attack errors. Northern Iowa, however, continued to hit at SIU's setters and kept Southern out of system.
