Swimming and diving closes out regular season at home

CARBONDALE, ILL. – The Southern Illinois University swimming and diving team will wrap up their regular season schedule this Saturday against the Evansville Purple Aces. This will be the second time this season the two teams have met; the first meeting consisted only of relays and diving. The men's team won, 188-142, and the women's team won, 190-118.
LAST TIME OUT
The women's team will be entering Saturday's meet coming off a win. Just this past weekend the Salukis traveled to Terre Haute, Indiana to take on the Sycamores of Indiana State. The women walked away with a 142-111 win, placing first 13 of the 16 events.
On the men's side, they are coming off a first place victory at the Butler Invite. The invite featured six teams competing in a one-day meet. SIU grabbed ten first place finishes out of a possible 16. The Salukis ended the day more than 100 points ahead of the second place finisher.
QUICK SCOUT
Both, the men's and women's teams for the Purple Aces are coming off loses. The men's team squared off with Ball State last weekend and fell, 153-81. The women's team lost in a close one to conference opponent, Illinois State, 170.5-127.5. Evansville will be competing in their final regular season match in Carbondale Saturday before the MAC and MVC championships.
SENIOR DAY
Saturday's meet will be senior day at Shea Natatorium. SIU will be honoring Jordyn Daniels, Sarah James, Kristina Ksarjian, Riley Schroedter, Lauren Stockton, Andre Brilhante, Filippo Dell'Olio, Andy Ross, and Bobby Wood and their Saluki careers. The nine seniors have earned 13 All-Academic team honors in their respective conferences (MAC & MVC), 10 All-Conference selections, four MVC titles, 3 MAC titles, and one MVC Championship (2016).

The meet will begin at 11 a.m. at the Shea Natatorium inside the recreation center. The order of events is listed below.
