Salukis Compete at ISU Invite

NORMAL, Ill. – The Saluki cross country teams ran at the first road meet of the season on Friday at the ISU Invite, hosted by Illinois State University.
The Saluki women finished fourth in the 5K out of the eight-team field. Senior Megan Krolak finished third with a time of 17:44.3, finishing four seconds ahead of her previous personal best in the 5K. Olivia Murphy also finished with a new personal best, as the junior placed 16th with a time of 18:17.1. Overall, the Saluki women finished 3-16-31-34-38 for 122 total points.
Loyola (Ill.) took home the women's team title behind four top-10 finishes, including Mimi Reimers win. Marquette finished second while Illinois State took third.
The Saluki men competed in the 8K and finished eighth out of an eight-team field. Sophomore Reid Parsons took 14th with a new career-best time of 25:12.1. Cain Hassim was the next Saluki to finish the race, as the senior took 31st with a time of 25:52.8. Overall, the Saluki men finished 14-31-35-49-52 for 181 total points.
On the men's side. Marquette took the team title with two top-five finishes, while Loyola (Ill.) finished second with three top-10 finishes. Illinois State's Jack Anstey took the individual win with a time of 24:41.1.
