Women’s Golf Finishes Seventh at Diane Daugherty Invite

KIRKWOOD, Mo. — Southern Illinois women's golf moved up two spots to finish in seventh place with a 54-hole total of 945 (+93) at the Diane Daugherty Invite. The Salukis carded 29-over 313 in Tuesday's final round at Greenbriar Hills Country Club. Arkansas State took home the title with a final score of 914 (+62), with South Dakota finishing runner-up at 916 (+64).
Fifth-year Erica Kerr posted the best score for SIU, finishing tied for 27th place in the 90-player field, with a total of 237 (+24). Freshman Janie Samattiyadeekul picked up six birdies at Greenbriar and fired 77 in the final round, her best score of the tournament, to tie for 32nd place.
Sophomore Ayanna Habeel finished strong, carding 77 on the last day of play, which moved her into a tie for 35th place at 26-over 239. Senior Emilyee McGiles posted a 79 on the day to finish at 27-over 240, tied for 40th place. Senior Moyea Russell had the Salukis final counting score at 84 to finish tied for 44th place with a total of 241 (+28).
Senior Rosemarie Bundy competed as an individual and finished tied for 61st place with a score of 247 (+34).

The Salukis return to the course on Friday, April 9th for the Jan Weaver Invitational, hosted by Murray State University, at Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Kentucky.
