Salukis Finish Seventh at Jan Weaver Invite

SIU women's golf finished in seventh place with a 54-hole total of 922 (+58) at the Jan Weaver Invitational. The Salukis carded 24-over 312 in Saturday's final round at Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Kentucky. Murray State, tournament host, took home the title with a final score of 898 (+34) after trailing runner-up Central Arkansas (+36) by 1-stroke after the first day of action.
Fifth-year Erica Kerr and freshman Janie Samattiyadeekul tied for 18th place with a total of 229 (+13). Samattiyadeekul picked up seven birdies and fired a 74 in the opening round. Senior Moyea Russell posted 80 on the final day of play after a strong opening day score of 150 to finish in 25th place at 14-over 230.Â
Senior Rosemarie Bundy competed as an individual and finished tied for 26th place with a score of 231 (+15). Sophomore Ayanna Habeel improved on the last day of play with a score of 77 to finish at 20-over 236, tied for 41st place with individual Megan Breslin who shot 236 (+20). Senior Emilyee McGiles posted a 80 on the day to finish at 22-over 238, in 48th place.
